I’ve attended a lot of events recently. This year has been filled with weddings, concerts, sports tournaments, and fundraisers. All these events were either helped or hurt by one key element, and you might be surprised to find out that element. Though important, it wasn’t the music, the venue, or the food. What made these events either successful or lackluster was the signage. Making sure your guests can find their way around, your sponsors get advertising, and your event looks interesting and unique can all be achieved by simply supplying proper signage.
Find Your Way Around
There is nothing more irritating to me than a lack of directional signs, because it is an indicator of confusion and chaos. If I don’t know where to park, where to enter an event, how to make my way around the venue, or find food, I’m starting the day annoyed. As an event coordinator, the last thing you want is for your guests to arrive annoyed.
Directional signage can easily allow your guests to feel in control of their day and avoid getting lost or having to ask for directions. Floor arrow decals are a unique way to point out designated areas like restrooms. If you’re a vendor at an event, make your booth stand out with hanging ceiling banners. Allow your customers the ability to see you over the crowd and make their way to your booth. You may even become a landmark for guests, which will get them talking about your company. No matter what you choose to do, it is of the utmost importance that the attendees can clearly find what they need at your event.
Represent the Sponsors!
I’ve been to a lot of sporting events this year. I play roller derby, and I travel far and wide to compete against other leagues. While looking through photos, I started to notice the sponsorship banners that appear in a lot of our pictures. Most leagues need sponsors to function, and my league is no different.
For every game, we hang banners advertising our sponsors on the wall behind our benches. This is great advertising that keeps on giving. Our fans see the banners during the game and then everyone else sees them when we share photos on social media. If your event has sponsors, make sure they’re visible and photographable. Banners and step and repeat walls are excellent ways to get ensure your sponsor gets their money’s worth in advertising. The most important thing with sponsorship displays is their company logo shines through, so these displays are great options for you and your sponsors.
Bring Your Vision to Life
The final type of signage that brings an event together is decorative. While all of your signs should look nice, decorative signs are your opportunity to bring some character to your event. Fabric pillars and walls create structure to an open room, with the added benefit of getting your message across cleanly. Backlit displays draw customers in like a moth to a flame, and fabric table throws let you dictate how your booth looks. Take control of your event with custom prints that create a space for your company or personal taste. They will go a long way for potential customers in the moment as well as in the future when they remember your interesting display.
If you ensure your convention, sporting event, wedding, or trade show booth utilizes all three types of signage, you’ll create a memorable day for your guests. They won’t get lost or confused. Your sponsors will feel represented. You’ll achieve the desired look for all aspects of the day. Get the most out of every opportunity you’re given to get your brand out into the world or make a memorable day for your guests. Our customer service representatives are happy to help your vision become a reality.
